In 2016, supported by the Korea Arts Council, I underwent a 6-month art residency in Brazil at Samauma Rural Arts Residency with artists Victor Kinjo and Eduardo Colombo. The residency, situated in the Atlantic Forest in São Paulo Metropolitan Region, serves as the headquarters of the cultural agency Água Viva Cultura e Sustentabilidade, founded by the artists. During our time together, we developed the Farmer Astronauts project, engaging in singing sessions, body practices, and research, creating songs and cultural actions showcased in various Brazilian cities, including Mogi das Cruzes, São Paulo, and Rio de Janeiro.

<Come to the river> is one of the songs born from this intensive research. This piece connects music and video art, grounded in ecological thought, aiming to evoke individual consciousness and social action. <Come to the river> is a live-action filmed in the Tiete River, a watercourse severely polluted for 30 years. We believe that cleaning the river is not solely dependent on government policies but also on the relationship between each individual and the river itself.
